JAIPUR: A viral video showing a child's head on a plate being carried in a Shobha Yatra on Dussehra in Rajasthan's Bhilwara district has sent the Rajasthan Police into a frenzy. But after the investigation police has found that it was simply done through a magic trick by villagers of Khakla village on Dusshera, a village known for its magic in the area.
The video opens with villagers carrying a child's neck in a plate laid on a 4 legged cot,as part of a traditional procession. The people are also looking at the head with reverence and putting flowers around the plate. It further shows an elderly man holding a sword, walking in front of the cot and the sword was dripping with blood.
The procession is followed by a huge crowd and people are also seen in the video looking from the balconies of their homes. The video went viral and the police was informed of the supposed cruelty in the village. When police reached at Khakhla Village , the villagers showed that it was just a trick and the bed had an opening inside in which the child was laid and the sword also had been painted.
Just to be sure , the police also met with the child whose head was seen in the procession and have confirmed that no harm has been brought to him.
SHO Gangapur Police Station Ramveer says: "investigation has revealed that it was just a magic trick played by the villagers to depict a child's head on a plate. It is part of the tradition in the village. It was a rumour that got circulated because of the social media. Whenever a rumour of such sort comes out, we verify it and confirm whether it is right or fabricated. Now we are issuing a statement through the IT cell to clarify this."
