KOLHAPUR: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat on Thursday appealed to the countrymen to stop buying medicines made overseas and instead purchase the ones manufactured in India for 'good health' of the country.

He made this appeal while addressing the gathering after the inauguration of the first Neuro Navigation System in western Maharashtra region at Siddharth Hospital and Research Center in Kaneri Math in Karveer tehsil of this district this afternoon, in the presence of 49th "Mathadhipati" Shree Kadsiddheshwar Swamiji.

The RSS chief further said that health and education have now become the basic necessities just as food, clothes and shelter.

In such a scenario, a large section of people from rural areas however have no access to proper health care as many doctors instead of rendering service in rural hospitals prefer to open their hospitals in city areas after completion of their medical education, he said.

Against this backdrop, the need of the hour is to make available multi-treatment and diagnosis system under one roof for the rural people of the country, Mr Bhagwat added.

RSS deputy secretary Mr Bhagaya, RSS regional chief Nanaji Jadhav, deputies charity commissioner Shashikant Herlekar and All India Rural Development projects chief Mr Dinesh among others were present at this function.
