CHANDIGARH: As resentment against chief minister Capt Amarinder Singh brews among Punjab government leaders, the chief minister is likely to host a dinner for the party MLAs on Monday, in an attempt to solve their grievances.

Many leaders have criticised the working of their own government over its inability to pinpoint the accused in the Bargari sacrilege cases and the free run enjoyed by the transport and cable mafia in the state.

In a recent meeting of the Congress legislative party to discuss the strategy for the ongoing monsoon season, party MLA Fateh Jung Singh Bajwa reportedly told Amarinder that even if Rs 1000 crore is provided for development of the assembly segment instead of Rs 100 crore, people will still not vote for the party.

A few MLAs asked why the government is not implementing the new transport policy and why a particular cable network is being allowed to monopolise in the state.
