Bhopal: Opposition BJP has alleged that the Congress government has directed omitting chapters on the saffron party’s ideologue Deendayal Upadhyaya and early eigth century Indian philosopher and theologian Adi Shankaracharya from the state higher education department’s calendar.

The matter was raised by Narela-Bhopal MLA Viswas Sarang in the ongoing budget session of State Assembly in Bhopal on Saturday evening.

The Assembly Speaker asked the concerned minister to look into the matter. He also clearly stated that it would be inappropriate to remove chapters dedicated to Sanatan Dharma – as the word Sanatan symbolizes continuity.

The Leader of Opposition Gopal Bhargava demanded a discussion over the issue as the alleged omission was against ‘Sanatan Dharma.’ The Congress MLA from Bhopal-Madhya seat Arif Masood, however, responded saying the BJP-led central government has deleted many chapters from the central education syllabus.
