NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday urged the youth to embrace the same spirit of dedication that had fuelled the country’s freedom struggle to achieve the ‘Viksit Bharat’ goal.

In the latest edition of his radio programme ‘Mann Ki Baat’, the PM underscored the need for patriotic efforts similar to those that united countless people from diverse backgrounds during the freedom struggle. This, he stressed, is crucial for development of a strong and developed nation.

Modi quoted his Independence Day speech made from the Red Fort, in which he invited a hundred thousand young people, devoid of any prior political affiliations, to step into the public life to weed out deeply rooted evils like “casteism and nepotism.”

Dwelling upon the significant progress in India in the 21st century, which is laying a solid foundation for a ‘Viksit Bharat’, he enumerated the achievements of young entrepreneurs in various sectors, including the space sector.
