NABARANGPUR:Preparations have reached the final stage for Mondei, the annual cultural festival of Nabarangpur district. The three-day festival, scheduled to begin from Monday, has drawn artistes from different parts of the State and country.

A colourful Mondei carnival will start its journey from Maa Bhandargharani Temple on Monday afternoon and travel along Mahatma Gandhi Marg to the main venue. A number of local traditional folk dancing troupes from different parts of the district will perform all along the route.
At a meeting, Collector and Chairperson of District Council of Culture, Rashmita Panda, called upon all sections of people of the district to participate actively in Mondei. “Let us celebrate Mondei with unity,” she added.

A  five-day Pallishree Mela and development exhibition will also be organised on the sidelines of the festival. Stalls have already been erected for the mela to accommodate various organisations, handicrafts, government and other institution participating in it.
