BHUBANESWAR: A 34-year-old man was killed in an accident on National Highway 16 under Khandagiri police limits here on Friday. The incident occurred on the wee hours of the day when one Pathani Sethi was proceeding to the City from Khurda.
At around 5:30 am when Sethi approached Patrapada, a mini-truck travelling in the same direction hit his two-wheeler from behind. He fell on the road and sustained serious head injuries.
Locals rushed Sethi to Capital Hospital but he succumbed on the way. Police registered a case of negligent driving causing death and arrested the truck driver Bishnu Chandra Bhoi.
Sethi is a native of Ganjam district and was residing at Phuleswari slum in Patrapada area. His body was sent for autopsy and later handed over to his family.
