BHUBANESWAR: Representatives of villages under Narasinghpur block which are slated to be excluded from Satkosia Wildlife Sanctuary met Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik here on Monday. Led by former minister and local MLA Debi Prasad Mishra, the villagers urged the CM for an early notification and expedited infrastructure and eco-tourism development.

Naveen gave them a patient hearing and informed them that he has directed the Forest and Environment Department to speed up the work. Mishra also met Tourism Minister Ashok Panda and urged that eco-tourism projects in the area must be given priority.

A meeting with Forest Department top brass was held during which it was pointed out that funds sanctioned for Kamaladihi-Baliput eco-tourim centre could not be utilised as it came under the tiger reserve jursidiction. After boundary rationalisation, work must be taken up, Mishra said.
