Geneva, Nov 14 (AFP) The European Union's policy ofhelping the Libyan authorities intercept migrants in theMediterranean and return them to "horrific" prisons in Libyais "inhuman", the United Nations said today.
"The suffering of migrants detained in Libya is anoutrage to the conscience of humanity," the UN human rightschief Zeid Ra'ad Al Hussein said in a statement, which blasted"the European Union's policy of assisting the Libyan CoastGuard to intercept and return migrants in the Mediterranean(as) inhuman."
