Thane, Nov 14 (PTI) Following directions of a localcourt, a senior police officer has been booked on charges ofharassing a complainant, police said today.
A case under relevant sections of the Indian PenalCode (IPC) was registered against Assistant Commissioner ofPolice S S Kalbande and one Suvarna Jadhav at the Kopri policestation, Thane Police Public Relations Officer Sukhada Narkarsaid.
According to the complaint by Ravindra Jadhav, hiswife was harassing him frequently and it was between May 2013and June 17, 2015 he was taken to the police station anddetained illegally by Kalbande, who was then a senior policeinspector, the officer said.
As per the complaint, the police official attackedJadhav with paper weight and abused him, the PRO added.
Following the court's direction, a case was registeredand a probe is on, said police. PTI CORNRB.
