Cabinet clears signing of India-Brazil investment treaty

New Delhi, Nov 30 (PTI) The Cabinet today approvedsigning of an investment cooperation and facilitation treatybetween India and Brazil.

The treaty will result in increase of investment flowsbetween the two countries and provide facilitation toBrazilian investors in India and vice versa.

"The Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister NarendraModi has given its approval for signing and ratification ofthe Investment Cooperation and Facilitation Treaty (ICFT)between India and Brazil," an official statement said.

The signing of the treaty is likely to increase thecomfort level and boost the confidence of investors byassuring a level-playing field and non-discrimination in allinvestment facilitation matters, thus providing conduciveinvestment climate to investors.

"It would help project India as a preferred ForeignDirect Investment (FDI) destination to all Brazilianinvestors," the statement added. PTI JDMKJ.
