New Delhi, Oct 21 (PTI) Congress vice president RahulGandhi today asked Prime Minister Narendra Modi not to"interfere" in the just-released movie "Mersal", saying cinemawas a "deep expression" of Tamil culture.

The comments came a day after Union Minister PonRadhakrishnan demanded removal of dialogues portraying what hetermed as "untruths" about the Goods and Services Tax (GST) inthe Vijay-starrer movie.

"Mr Modi, Cinema is a deep expression of Tamil cultureand language. Don't try to demon-etise Tamil pride byinterfering in Mersal," Gandhi said in a tweet.

Yesterday, Radhakrishnan had demanded the removal ofthe "untruths" about the GST, rolled out by the BJP-led NDAgovernment on July 1.

"The film producer should remove the untruths regardingthe GST from the film," Radhakrishnan had said. PTI MPANB.
