Dubai, Jan 3 (PTI) Indian umpires Anil Chaudhary and C KNandan will be a part of the 14-strong panel of officials forthe Under-19 World Cup starting January 13 in New Zealand, theInternational Cricket Council announced today.

The 12th edition of the tournament will feature RobertBailey, Gregory Brathwaite, Anil Chaudhary, Nigel Duguid,Shaun George, Shaun Haig, Mark Hawthorne, Ranmore Martinesz,C.K. Nandan, Ahsan Raza, Shozab Raza, Timothy Robert Robinson,Langton Rusere and Paul Wilson in umpiring role.

Apart from them, David Odhiambo, Buddhi Pradhan and IanRamage from the ICC Development Panel will also be officiatingin the tournament.

Jeff Crowe of the Emirates Elite Panel of ICC MatchReferees, and Devdas Govindjee and David Jukes of theInternational Panel of ICC Match Referees, will also beofficiating in the tournament.

Shaun George and Ahsan Raza will be the on-field umpiresfor the match between defending champions the Windies andhosts New Zealand on the opening day at the Bay Oval inTauranga while Robert Bailey will be the TV umpire and TimothyRobinson the fourth umpire.

David Jukes has been appointed as the match referee forthis match.

Umpire and match referee appointments for the knockoutstages will be announced after the teams have been confirmed.

The Windies will be looking to defend their title andemulate Pakistan, who won consecutive titles in 2004 and 2006.

Australia and India have won the title three times eachwhile England and South Africa are the other teams to have wonthe tournament, which replicates a major tournament experiencein terms of organization and playing facilities.

The other teams participating in the 16-team tournamentare Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Ireland, Kenya, Namibia, NewZealand, Papua New Guinea, South Africa, Sri Lanka andZimbabwe.

The team have been divided in groups of four each. Thetop two sides from each group will advance to the Super Leaguewhile the remaining eight teams will figure in the PlateChampionship. The preliminary round matches will be followedby quarter-finals, semi-finals and finals, plus the play-offs.
