Korean Kim wins BGC corporate golf title

BHUBANESWAR: Bhubaneswar Golf Club added another feather to its cap by successfully hosting the 4th Corporate Golf Tournament at the BGC course here on Saturaday.

Sang-Rak Kim of Korean company, POSCO, emerged champion in the overall category of the 18-hole Stableford tournament, scoring 38 points, two points ahead of Rajiv Ray (ACE), who finished runner-up in the 0-18 handicap event. Dalbir Singh of Paradip Phosphate Limited (PPL) claimed the best gross title with 24 points in his kitty.

In the 19 to 24 handicap category, Shailendra Singh (ESS) won the title with 37 points, while Bhupinder Singh (Kotak) ended runner- up with 36 points.

Bijay K Das (DPCL) secured the top honour in the senior event with 29 points, while the ladies’ crown went to Geeta Biswas (IMFA), who finished with 27 points.

Altogether 88 golfers, including eight ladies took part in the three-day tournament.

Indian Oil Corporation CMD Sarthak Behuria, Dhamara Port Company Limited CMD Santosh Mohapatra and Paradip Phosphate Limited Managing Director S S Nandurdikar gave away the prizes at the closing function.
