Karnataka girls opened their account in the 32nd National Sub-Junior Volleyball Championship by defeating Delhi 25-19, 25-6, 25-12 on the second day of the tournament at Nehru Stadium here on Tuesday. In the boys section, Jammu and Kashmir defeated Pondicherry 25-22, 25-21 and 25-15 in a Group B league matche to enter the next round. In Group A, seven-time champion Andhra Pradesh beat Jharkhand 25-13, 25-20 and 25- 15, while Haryana defeated Madhya Pradesh 25-16, 25-18, 25-12 and Himachal Pradesh beat Jharkhand 25-17, 25-21, 25-22. In the Group B matches, Rajasthan trounced Gujarat 25-18, 18-25, 25-17, 25-17 and Pondicherry beat Bihar 25-23, 25-23, 25-19.

In Group C, West Bengal defeated Delhi 25-18, 25-23, 25- 20 and Goa got a walk-over from Assam. In Group D, Maharashtra defeated Chhattisgarh 25-11, 25-11, 25-17.

In the girls section, six-time champion Haryana defeated Delhi 25-16, 24-26, 25-21, 25-22 in a Group D league matche.

In Group A, one-time champion Maharashtra defeated Orissa 25-6, 25-8, 25-9 and eighttime champion Tamil Nadu defeated Orissa 25-13, 25-5, 25- 10. In Group B, seven-time champion Kerala defeated Pondicherry 25-3, 25-8, 25-2 and Goa beat Jharkhand 25-20, 25- 14, 25-19.

In Group D matches, Chhattisgarh defeated Gujarat 25-20, 25-9, 25-18 to enter the next round in the league matches.

In late night matches on Monday, Kerala boys got a walk-over against Assam in Group C, while Manipur moved into the next round after getting a walkover against Uttarakhand in Group D.

In Group B matches, 10-time champion Uttar Pradesh defeated Bihar 25-8, 25-13, 25-10 in a match lasting 50 minutes.

In Group C, former champion Punjab defeated Goa 25-22, 22- 25, 25-21, 25-10 in 83 minutes.
