NEW DELHI: India's Yuki Bhambri won his maiden ATP Challenger Tour singles title Sunday defeating Amir Weintraub of Israel 6-3, 6-3 in the tournament held in Fergana, Uzbekistan.

Bhambri got past the fourth seed in an hour and 20 minutes at the $35,000 hard court event.

The win fetched the 19-year-old $5,000 in prize money and 80 points which should help him improve his current ranking of 297. Somdev Devvarman is currently the highest-ranked Indian at 230.

Bhambri had won his first ATP Challenger Tour doubles crown in Busan last week.
