Bharath and Indrajith Script Stunning Win

CHENNAI: Centuries by K Bharath Shankar 160 (208b, 22x4, 2x6) and B Indrajith 116 (169b, 8x4, 1x6) enabled Tamil Nadu to beat Baroda by two wickets in a thrilling match of the Col CK Nayudu Trophy played at Vadodara.

Chasing 347 for a win, Tamil Nadu achieved victory with three balls to spare. Bharath and Indrajith added 246 runs in 54.5 overs for the third wicket which laid the platform for the visitors. Earlier, Baroda declared their second innings at 211 for 8 in 79 overs. After visitors poor show in the first innings, the Baroda thinktank did not expect Tamil Nadu to go for a win. In the end, the declaration proved costly.

Brief scores: Baroda 322 and 211/8 decl. in 79 ovs (Vishnu Solanki 71, KR Kakade 58; J Kousik 3/40) lost to Tamil Nadu 187 and 351/8 in 81.3 ovs (K Bharath Shankar 160, B Indrajith 116; LI Meriwala 5/126, KR Kadake 3/37). Points:  Tamil Nadu 6, Baroda 0.

Prathik Shines

B Prathik scored a valuable 54 to help Chinmaya Vidyalaya (Kilpauk) get the better of Anand Jain School in the first semifinal of the U-17 Friends inter school cricket tournament here on Thursday. In the finals, they will face PSBB (KK Nagar) who beat Chinmaya Vidyalaya (Virugabakam) in the other semifinal match.
