Chelsea Captain Terry Pays Emotional Tribute to Outgoing Mourinho

ANI

LONDON: Chelsea skipper John Terry has paid tribute to Jose Mourinho, describing the recently sacked manager as the best boss he has ever worked with.

The embattled manager was axed on Thursday after Chelsea incurred nine defeats in their last 16 Premier League games, which placed the defending champions just one point above the relegation zone.

Terry, who was dropped by the Portuguese manager this season, posted a picture of him with Mourinho on Instagram and wrote, “Thank You doesn't seem enough Sad sad day Gonna miss you Boss The Very Best I have EVER worked with, unbelievable memories together,” goal.com reported.

Chelsea had cited `palpable discord between manager and players` as the reason behind the dismissal of Mourinho.

It is believed that Dutch coach Guus Hiddink, who served as an interim coach of Chelsea in 2009, would make a return to the club in a similar role.

Mourinho had guided Chelsea to a Premier League and League Cup double last season. He was previously shown the door by Chelsea in 2007 after a successful three-year stint at the club in which he won two Premier League titles, two League Cups and the FA Cup.
