Words of praise for Sachin

BANGALORE: Sach — Genius Unplugged, a book containing articles on Sachin Tendulkar by cricket writers and one each by Sanjay Ma­njrekar, Rahul Dr­avid and Anil Kumble, and edited by Suresh Menon, was re­leased at a function here on We­d­nesday.

Dravid released the book and  Kumble received the first copy. The trio played together for lo­ng with Kumble and Tendulkar holding the record for the most Tests played by two cricketers at 122 Tests. Later, it was brok­en by Dravid and Tendulkar, who have played 135 Tests with some more to come. “Sachin turned the legspinner and googly by the same huge width, while I struggled to spin the ball,” said Kumble, who also recalled his debut at Old Trafford in 1990  when Tendulkar slammed his his first Test ton. “I was on the balcony and Kiran More told me to stand there all day as Ten­d­ulkar was batting well when I was there,” he added.
