Akmal to lead Pakistan in HK Sixes

Wicketkeeper-batsman Kamran Akmal will leaddefending champion Pakistan in the Hong Kong Super Sixes later this month, thePakistan Cricket Board announced on Monday.

Akmal's younger brother Umar was also named in the seven-mansquad that include hard-hitting opening batsman Owais Zia, allrounder HammadAzam, fast bowlers Junaid Khan and Tanveer Ahmed and legspinner Yasir Shah.

Pakistan defeated England by 35 runs in last year's final.

The eight-nation event will be played Oct. 27-28. Pakistanis in Pool B with archrival India, Sri Lanka and the Netherlands.

Pool A comprises Australia, South Africa, England and hostHong Kong.
