Andhra women win South Zone U-19 tournament

Andhra Pradesh today emerged champion in theSouth Zone U-19 women's cricket tournament, while Hyderabad was declaredrunners-up.

Andhra Pradesh and Hyderabad secured 22 points each afterthe end of the tournament, but the former was declared champion due to itsbetter net run rate.

Six teams - AP, Hyderabad, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala andGoa - participated in the tournament hosted by Andhra Cricket Association(ACA).

G Gangaraju, Secretary, ACA, announced a cash prize of Rs 3lakh to the winner.

Individual prizes were also awarded. These included Bestbatswomen Sneha Torvi ((Hyderabad), best bowler Jhansi Lakshmi (AP), bestwicketkeeper R Kalpana (AP) and woman of the tournament Praneesha V Gorentla(Hyderabad).
