From our online archive

SYDNEY: Play resumed in the fifth match of the cricket tri-series between India and Australia after a rain interruption which rendered it a 44-over-a-side affair at the SCG here today.

After a delayed start due to morning drizzle, rain interrupted play when India were 6 for no loss in 2.4 overs with Shikhar Dhawan and Ajinkya Rahane on the crease on 1 and 2 respectively.

The first Powerplay is for 9 overs and the batting powerplay for four. While four bowlers can bowl nine overs, one bowler eight. The innings break will be just for 25 minutes.

It's a must-win game for a winless India on 'Republic Day' while the hosts, who are unbeaten so far in the three matches gone by, will also like to keep the winning momentum going on 'Australia Day'.
