Three Days Later, Play to Resume in Rain-soaked Sydney Test

AFP

SYDNEY: Play was to get underway at 11:45 am (0045 GMT) as the sun finally shone on the fifth and last day of the rain-ruined Australia-West Indies third Test in Sydney.

The match umpires made a pitch inspection and declared play would at last get underway after two full days were lost to rain consigning the match to a draw.

Only 86.2 overs have been bowled so far in the final Test of the series, already secured 2-0 by Australia.

The West Indies have remained on 248 for seven since Monday at the Sydney Cricket Ground. Denesh Ramdin is on 30 with Kemar Roach yet to score.
