India set New Zealand 68-run target in 8 overs a side contest

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: India made 67 for five against New Zealand in the series-deciding third T20, which was reduced to eight overs a side contest due to rain.

Manish Pandey made 17 off 11 balls and Hardik Pandya remained unbeaten on 14 off 10 balls after New Zealand put India in to bat at the Greenfield Stadium, which is hosting its first international match.

Pacer Tim Southee picked up two wickets for New Zealand and so did leggie Ish Sodhi.

India made two changes in the playing eleven with Pandey and Kuldeep Yadav replacing Akshar Patel and Mohammad Siraj.

Southee replaced Adam Milne in the New Zealand lineup.

Brief scores: India 67/5 in 8 overs (Pandey 17, Pandya 14 not out; Southee 2/23, Sodhi 2/23, Boult 1/13).
