KOCHI: And thus, drowned Delhi Dynamos in the yellow sea. Kerala Blasters’ 1-0 victory on Sunday against the pre-match favourites Dynamos could well be summarised thus. Dynamos played not just against 11 Blasters players.

They had a whole sea of Blasters to fight against. Cheering, shouting, applauding and at times hooting the Dynamos players, the yellow brigade threw their full weight behind the home team. The final outcome showed that the high-octane effort indedd paid off.

“This is what we expect in return for screaming, chanting and loving the Kerala blasters. Even though the team started on a negative note they could make a good come back. What we can do for them is to support them and that ensured that the team reached the last four of the ISL,” said Sainudeen, who came all the way from football-crazy Malappuram along with his five-year-old son and friend.

For six-year-old Ishaan, who was overwhelmed after taking a selfie with his icon Sachin Tendulkar, the Blasters’ win was the  icing on the cake.
“I love Blasters because of Sachin. I am happy that papa took me to the match,” said a beaming Ishaan.
