HYDERABAD: The Central Water Commission (CWC) today granted permission for the modernisation of Krishna delta and the construction of Pulichintala project in the State.

Major Irrigation Minister Ponnala Lakshmaiah said that both the projects are awaiting clearance from Investments and Planning Commission.

The State Government is spending about Rs 2,411.12 crore for the modernisation of Krishna delta and another Rs 1,273 crore for construction of Pulichintala project.

With the clearance from the Central Water Commission, both the projects become eligible to take up works under Accelerated Irrigation Benefit Programme (AIBP), the minister said.
