HYDERABAD: A project assistant at the Centre for DNA and Fingerprints Diagnostics (CDFD) jumped to death from the terrace of her hostel building at Abids today.

The deceased, Venkateshwari (24), a native of Tamil Nadu, was staying in a hostel at Mahesh Nagar in Abids. Venkateshwari did not go to work today and stayed back at her hostel.

Around 12.05 p.m, she jumped from the terrace of the hostel and ended her life, Abids police said.

Hearing a thud, hostel watchman rushed to the spot and found her in a pool of blood. She died instantly.

Minutes before jumping to death, Venkateshwari typed a message on her mobile phone stating `Appa, Amma, relatives and friends, I am sorry.’ She, however, did not send the message to anyone. Police are yet to ascertain the cause of death.
