HYDERABAD: The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) today took strong objection to the Nava Telangana Party (NTP) merging with the Praja Rajyam Party (PRP) which was “launched by Andhra leaders”, stating that it was an insult to the people of Telangana.

The TRS also alleged that Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy and PRP president Chiranjeevi were singing the Telangana tune in the same tone. There was no difference between both the leaders as far as the Telangana issue was concerned, the TRS opined.

TRS official spokesperson G Jagadeshwar Reddy said the NTP had been formed on the advise of the PRP leadership and the merger was also done at the behest of the PRP.

He said there was no social justice in the PRP and this was the reason why several leaders from BC, SC, ST and minority communities had left the party. Chiranjeevi and Devender Goud were raising the slogan of separate Telangana State for their personal political benefits, he said and hoped that people would teach a befitting lesson to the PRP in the coming elections.
