RAJAHMUNDRY: Kovvur TDP MLA TV Rama Rao, who is lodged in the Central Prison here alleged that the government doctors in Rajahmundry and Kakinada declared his health condition as stable under duress from the higher ups and fearing for their jobs.

``Though my health is deteriorating, the government doctors are saying my condition is stable,’’ he told mediapersons.

The MLA, lodged in the Central Jail here, was taken to Kakinada Government General Hospital this morning in an ambulance, when he complained of chest pain.

After a medical check-up the doctors declared that the MLA’s condition was stable, according to Kakinada Government Hospital Superintendent M D R Sarma. Hence, he was sent back to Rajahmundry.

Speaking to mediapersons after reaching Rajahmundry, the MLA said that whether he would live or die would be decided in the Central Jail itself as the government doctors were afraid of treating him and declared that he was healthy.

The ambulance carrying Rama Rao took three hours to reach Kakinada, a distance of about 70 kms.

Two constables accompanying Rama Rao were placed under suspension as they were inaccessible for three hours.

The Kovvur MLA was brought from Guntur Government General hospital and lodged in the Central Jail here two days ago.
