7 newly-elected MLCs take oath

HYDERABAD: State Legislative Council Chairman A Chakrapani today administered the oath of office to seven new members who were elected from the Local Authorities Constituency in the elections held last month.

Of them, five belong to the Congress and two to the Telugu Desam Party. V Bhoopal Reddy (Medak), N Vidyasagar (Nalgonda), K Muralidhar Rao (Warangal), T Bhanu Prasada Rao (Karimnagar) and S Jagadeeshwar Reddy (Mahabubnagar) belong to the Congress, while P Nageshwar Rao (Khammam) and A Narsa Reddy (Nizamabad) are from the TDP. The Chairman had yesterday administered oath of office to two other newly-elected members: P Rama Rao (Prakasam) and DV Suryanarayana Raju (Visakhapatnam).

Both Bhoopal Reddy and Vidyasagar were elected for a second time to the Council. Minister T Jeevan Reddy, MP MA Khan, MLCs K Janardhan Reddy, R Padma Raju, MLA K Surekha and others were present at the ceremony.
