KURNOOL: Agraharam Prabhakar Reddy, known as a factionist in the district, was found murdered today. Believed to be missing for the last four days, his body was recovered from Bangalore.

Initially, police considered that he died in a road mishap but it was not true. However, police said they had no information on the issue and that there was no complaint.

Reddy, a native of Agraharam in Gonegandla mandal and a TDP functionary is the prime accused in the murder case of former MLA Seshi Reddy, husband of Alur MLA Neeraja Reddy.

Seshi Reddy was murdered by TDP men at Gonegandla mandal headquarters on April 18, 1996 and Prabhakar Reddy is the prime accused in it. Since then the rival group has been nursing a grudge against Reddy.

In such a situation, Prabhakar along with his brotherin- law Lakshmikanta Reddy, went to Bangalore on some personal work in a car on August 19.

Prabhakar’s family members received information that Reddy met with an accident on August 21, 2009.

However, when the family members reached the spot of mishap they found only Lakshmikanta Reddy’s body near a lake in Gangamma temple police station limits, Bangalore. They could not find the car and the body of Prabhakar Reddy.

Believing that he was still alive, they began searching for him and even met SP Srikanth and briefed him about the situation.

But a phone call from their relatives in Bangalore this evening stating that Prabhakar’s body was found pushed the family into deep sorrow.

Speaking to newspersons, his wife Venkataramanamma said Prabhakar, no doubt, was murdered. Gonegandla SI Mohammed Basha maintained that they had not recieved any complaint.

But there is a suspicion that Congress activists and supporters of Alur MLA Neeraja Reddy are behind the crime.
