WARANGAL: Past enmity between the Konda couple--Konda Muralidhar Rao, Konda Surekha--and TDP leader Errabelli Dayakar is being seen as the reason behind the latter’s remarks that he would obstruct Jagan’s upcoming Warangal district tour, according to political analysts. It may be noted that Dayakar Rao’s controversial remarks drew flak from his own party circles as party MP N Harikirshna had written to TDP president Chandrababu Naidu objecting to Errabelli’s comments.

Though Dayakar Rao and Konda Muralidhar Rao were good friends, over a period of time they turned arch enemies on account of their politics.

Both the groups had been fighting for political supremacy in the region for the past 15 years. In 2002 Konda Murali and his 10 followers were booked for the murder of Kolli Pratapa Reddy, Dayakar Rao’s sidekick. But they were acquitted later.

Though both groups have been calm of late, Dayakar Rao’s remarks in the backdrop of Jagan’s tour sparked fresh controversy.

However, the TDP leader asserted that he made the comments keeping in mind the Telangana issue and in no way were they related to their enmity. He said he has remained patient, though the Konda couple have caused him losses in every way.

“I am still committed to my comments,’’ Dayakar Rao said vowing to disrupt Jagan’s tour.
