VILAYAWADA: Former minister Simhadri Satyanarayana died after a brief illness here today. He was 82. Simhadri Satyanarayana had held various ministries like endowments and excise during the tenure of former chief minister  N T Rama Rao. The bond between the two was such that many a time NTR described Simhadri as one of his best friend in politics. He represented Avanigadda Assembly segment in Krishna district for several terms.

But after the death of NTR, he developed differences with Chandrababu Naidu and in 2004, was expelled from the TDP . The Lok Satta survey revealed that Satyanarayana was among a few honest politicians in the state.

Leaders of various parties condoled the death of Satyanarayana. In a message, Chandrababu Naidu said that Satyanarayana's death was an irreparable loss to the party. He expressed his sympathies with the family members.
