HYDERABAD: Velluri Srinivas Reddy, an advocate demanded police action on Sunday against Vijayawada MP Lagadapati Rajagopal for allegedly masterminding an acid attack on him in 2008.

The advocate told reporters he was continuing to face life threat from Rajagopal and sought police protection. He stated that on May 13, 2008 around 1 p.m while he was in his office, four unidentified persons entered and threw acid on his face and fled. As a result of the attack, one side of his face and an eye were completely damaged.  

Narayanapeta police registered a case and arrested the four guilty including one A Raghavendara.

Srinivas alleged the MP, his wife Padma and father-in-law P Upendra masterminded the attack. The advocate claimed that Raghavendara told him he executed the crime at the behest of  Padma. Srinivas said Padma had developed a grudge against him after he introduced oneJanaki Iyyer to her husband.
