HYDERABAD: Denying that they attacked Lok Satta Party president N Jayaprakash Narayan in the Andhra Pradesh Assembly premises, TRS MLAs today alleged that he never cared for the sentiments of Telangana people.

"We did not attack him. He says our protest against Governor''s address is a black day. But why has he never shown any respect for the sentiments of Telangana. Why did he not condemn the suicides of hundreds of Telangana people," senior TRS MLA T Harish Rao told reporters.

Claiming that Narayan was responsible for creating an atmosphere of confrontation in the Assembly, TRS politburo members T Jagadish Reddy and Shravan Kumar said what happened in the Assembly was only a manifestation of Telangana self-respect.

TRS MLAs allegedly beat up the Lok Satta Party chief and Congress MLC Paladugu Venkata Rao in the premises of the state Assembly today.

The alleged incident occurred after the TRS MLAs tried to manhandle Governor E S L Narasimhan inside the House during his address to the joint sitting of both the houses on the opening day of the Budget Session.
