VIJAYAWADA: A private petition was filed in ACB court here on Monday by Chittoor District Cricket Association president B Vijaykumar  alleging that Andhra Cricket Association (ACA) secretary Gokaraju Gangaraju and eight other members committed several irregularities.

Advocates B Chandrasekhar and P Srinivas filed the petition in ACB court on behalf of Vijaykumar. In his petition, Vijayakumar alleged that funds to the tune of Rs 10 crore were misused by these ACA members.

He said the government sanctioned Rs 3 crore for a women’s cricket stadium at Mangalagiri. But the ACA secretary and members were trying to construct the administrative office of the women’s cricket stadium at Undavalli at a cost of Rs 75 lakh as Gangaraju has several acres of land there.

The administrative office should be located on the stadium premises only, he said. Vijaykumar also demanded an inquiry into irregularities in cricket associations of several districts in the state.

The ACB court judge posted the case to July 7. Meanwhile, ACA secretary Gangaraju and 13 members of his panel filed their nominations for ACA elections scheduled to be held on July 30.

The panel is supporting the candidature of Gangaraju for the post of secretary.
