VIJAYAWADA: Veteran journalist and writer Nanduri Ramamohanarao passed away in a private hospital here on Friday after a prolonged illness.

He was 87.

Ramamohanarao was born at Arugolanu village in Bapulapadu mandal of Krishna district on April 24, 1924.

He worked as editor of Telugu daily Andhra Jyothi for 33 years.

He wrote many books which are applauded by literary critics.

Naraavatharam, Viswarupam, Viswadarsanam-Bharatiyachinthana are some of his famous literary works.

He was conferred with the Maadala Veerabhadra Rao Memorial Award this year.

He also wrote many children’s books.
