GUNTUR: The Seemandhra political Joint Action Committee has threatened to launch an agitation in Andhra and Rayalaseema regions, bigger and more intense than the Telangana Sakala Janula Samme, if the state is not kept united.

Talking with reporters here on Thursday, JAC convener N Samuel and president P Narasimha Rao said the the state formed on the linguistic basis as per the recommendations of the first states reorganisation commission should not be disturbed. TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao and others were organising the Sakala Janula Samme for their political mileage and for their political existence but not to champion the cause of the people, they said.

“The Samme has affected the government administration and is jeopardising the studies of students in Telangana. Besides, it has an evil impact on Seemandhra in the form of power cuts, disruption of transport services to places including the state capital.’’ The Congress high command should not, therefore, take any hasty and improper decision as it did in the past (December 9 statement by Chidambaram).

“If it does, there will be an agitation here much severe than the Telangana Sakala Janula Samme,’’ they warned.
