KARIMNAGAR: MP Ponnam Prabhakar has voiced concern that a Congress leader had encroached Wakf Board land in Hyderabad.

Speaking to mediapersons here on Friday, he  said the image of the government would be tarnished if it did not do justice to the minorities.

He wondered why minority leaders cutting across party lines were mum over the Wakf Board land encroachment issue. He exhorted them to launch an agitation to prevail upon the government to restore the wakf land.

Peddapalli MP G Vivek said party MLAs, MPs and ministers should fight unitedly to press the Union government to carve separate Telangana state.

He observed that Seemandhra leaders were giving wrong information to the Central government that there was no Telangana movement after the Sakalajanula Samme. He urged the Seemandhra leaders to stop the misinformation campaign and cooperate for the state bifurcation.

Referring to the Singareni Collieries Company Limited, he said local people  should be given priority while taking up recruitment.
