HYDERABAD: The suspended eight Telangana Congress MPs who arrived in Hyderabad on Thursday afternoon were accorded a rousing reception at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport.

They were suspended from the business of the House on Tuesday after they stalled the proceedings of the Parliament demanding that the government should honour its promise of initiating the process for formation of Telangana state.

Though it was unprecedented, the Congress members were suspended from the House and political analysts said it was intended to help them get sympathy from people of Telangana region as also send a signal to the coastal Andhra where byelections are due that the Centre was not considering the demand for bifurcation of the state.

When the MPs were creating trouble in the House, neither AICC general secretary and in-charge of AP Affairs Ghulam Nabi azad Azad nor AICC observer for AP Vayalar Ravi counselled with them against creating a scene in the House.

The MPs  organised a protest on Wednesday on the premises of the Parliament, reiterating that Telangana is not negotiable and the government should keep its word. After arriving in Hyderabad, they drove to Martyrs Memorial at the Gun Park in front of the Assembly where they paid homage to the martyrs.
