Surajya movement in more towns: JP

The Surajya movement will be taken to towns in the state and a steering committee has been formed for the purpose.

Announcing this at a media conference after holding a meeting with leaders of political parties and people’s organisations here on Thursday, Lok Satta Party chief Jayaprakash Narayan said the movement would be apolitical and non-partisan movement aimed at dispelling despair and infusing confidence among people.

It is for enlightening people on their rights and exert pressure on the the government and political parities for decentralisation of power, corruption-free administration and ethical politics through electoral reforms.

 Round-table conferences, formation of forums in colleges, training of volunteers, publication of literature were being planned, he said and added that they aimed to reach at least one crore people by December 9, the Global Anti-Corruption Day.
