Jana sets record as minister

Senior Congress leader and currently panchayat raj ministerK.Jana Reddy created a record of sorts on Friday by holding ministerial postfor a longest period of 14 years and 11 months in the state.

He broke the record of former chief minister KasuBrahmananda Reddy who served as minister for a period of 14 years 10 months and28 days. While Brahmanada Reddy also held the chief minister’s post, Jana Reddyhas served only as a minister during this period.

In a chat with scribes at the Secretariat, Jana Reddyexpressed satisfaction over his long political career. He made it clear that hehad never resorted to group politics to grab chief minister’s post. “Whateverposts I got, I got them because of my individual ability,” he said.

In an indirect reference to the Congress high command movesto effect changes in the state Congress leadership, Jana Reddy said that ifanybody felt that the performances of the chief minister and the PCC chief werenot up to the mark, then one should see that the incumbents worked to thesatisfaction of all.
