'Keyhole surgery painless'

HYDERABAD: The advent of keyhole surgery has brought about great changes in pediatrics, Dr Ramesh Kancherla, patron of Pediatric Endo Surgeons of India, has said.

Speaking at the valedictory of the three-day seventh annual conference of PESI here on Sunday, Ramesh said before the introduction of keyhole surgery, children used to undergo a lot of pain and remain bed-ridden in hospitals for many days during surgeries on them.

During three day annual conference of PESI delegates from across the world attended the conference and shared their knowledge and experiences on pediatrics among themselves.

Dr Keith Georgesona, pioneer in pediatrics from the USA; and Dr VVS Chandhrasekhara, chief surgeon of Rainbow Children's Hospitals, were present.
