State to attract R50,000 cr Investments in Infra

HYDERABAD: Newly appointed minister for infrastructure, investment, ports and airports, Ganta Srinivasa Rao has said that the state has the potential to attract investments to the tune of Rs 50,000 crore in infrastructure projects during the next two years, sustaining the recent momentum.

After assuming charge on Wednesday, the minister signed a file seeking Airports Authority of India's approval for operationalising the newly-constructed terminal building at Rajahmundry airport, built at a cost of about Rs 30 crore and a file pertaining to filling all posts in Kakinada port.

When asked about having business interests in shipping, Srinivasa Rao said there will be no conflict of interest with the portfolio he has been entrusted.

Srinivasa Rao took charge amid much fanfare with special pujas being performed on the occasion.

The erstwhile PRP president K Chiranjeevi, PCC president Botcha Satyanarayana, other Cabinet ministers Anam Ramanarayana Reddy, D Prasad Rao, Ponnala Lakshmaiah, E Pratap Reddy, C Ramachandraiah, Allu Aravind and a few MLAs congratulated the new minister on the occasion.
