Plea against TV channel at TRS office

A division bench of the High Court comprising acting chief justice V.Eswaraiah and justice Vilas V Afzulpurkar on Monday permitted former TRS member and nephew of TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao to file an additional affidavit to restrain the TRS from running a news channel from its party office, Telangana Bhavan, situated on Road No 12 of Banjara Hills in the city.

Ch Umesh Rao, the petitioner, pointed out that the land in question was allotted to the TRS on the condition that it would not be used for commercial purpose. Yet, the premises was being used by the party as an office to run a news channel, he said and sought cancellation of the allotment of land.
