Gali’s remand extended till October 19

Karnataka former minister Gali Janardhan Reddy and the three other accused in the cash-for-bail scam were sent to judicial remand till October 19 on Friday. Meanwhile, Janardhan Reddy on Friday filed a bail petition in the ACB court.

 Amidst tight security, Gali Janardhan Reddy was brought to the ACB court in the Old City accompanied by Chanchalguda prison officials.

The other accused, Janardhan Reddy’s brother Gali Somasekhara Reddy, and MLA’s Dasaradharami Reddy and T H Suresh Babu, were brought from the Cherlapally central prison. A number of supporters of Gali brothers and the Karnataka legislators came to the court to have a glimpse of their leaders.

 Security was beefed up at the court to prevent any unforeseen trouble. Janardhan Reddy spent more than 30 minutes with his brother and the two MLAs. He last met them previous week when the former minister was brought from Bengaluru prison in the cash-for-bail scam.

 The two other accused in the case, suspended judges Lakshminarasimha Rao and Prabhakar Rao, who were released on bail, also appeared before the court.

 Meanwhile, Janardhan Reddy filed a bail bail petition and the matter is posted to October 19 for a hearing
