Navaratri Brahmotsavams begin

The nine-day Navaratri Brahmotsavams began here on Monday on a grand note with the processional deity of Lord Malayappaswamy along with His consorts Bhudevi and Sridevi being taken out in a procession atop a Golden Tiruchi Utsavam around four mada streets.

For about two hours, the procession of Lord Malayappaswamy gave darshan to thousands of pilgrims along the four Mada streets, bedecked on the Tiruchi golden vehicle.

The parivara deities were also taken around the temple streets as part of the tradition.

While a large number of devotees from across the country converged on the hills to witness the glittering function, the Tirumala hills reverberated with Govinda Namam.

The Golden Tiruchi was bedecked with flowers of different kinds, while the deities were adorned with diamond-studded precious jewellery.

The entire Tirumala wore a festive look with huge electrical illumination. The digital screens set up for the convenience of the devotees to watch the Brahmotsavam rituals live drew impressive crowds

Thousands of devotees thronged the Mada streets to have a glimpse of the Lord.

TTD chairman K Bapiraju, EO LV Subramanyam, TTD Board member  Sivaprasad and others were present.
