CPI’s plea to PM on Telangana

Express News Service

Communist Party of India (CPI) state secretary K Narayana on Thursday led a delegation to the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in New Delhi and sought his intervention for the formation of a separate Telangana state.

After submitting the memorandum, the CPI leader expressed displeasure over the way the Prime Minister had responded to the representation.

“I fail to understand how the Prime Minister could remain unmoved when the movement for Telangana is fierce,” he said and likened him to Emperor Nero who played fiddle when the Rome was on fire.
