Taking a serious view of the threat mail to its president G Kishan Reddy, the state BJP has decided to lodge a complaint with the police against the intimidating message posted on his Facebook account. The person, who posted the message, is a Pakistan national, the party says.
According to an official press release from the BJP here on Saturday, a Urdu message, transliterated in English, conveyed the threat to Kishan Reddy's his life. “It is posted by one, Ikram Shah, a Pakistani national,'' the party said. The party's IT cell conducted a preliminary investigation and found out that Ikram has ‘certain dubious links'.
Referring to a statement made by Kishan Reddy against cross-border terrorism, Ikram posted Reddy's photo crossing it with a ‘X' mark. “We request the government to find out if Ikram has links locally and make a comprehensive probe to know his antecedents,'' the party said, adding that the state government should review the security being provided to Kishan Reddy because of the threat.
