The BJP on Saturday organised huge rallies at Habsiguda and Nacharam in the city to protest against the proposal to raise power tariff.
Party spokesperson NVSS Prabhakar, who led the rallies, told demonstrators that the Congress was placing an unbearable burden on the common man by seeking to raise tariff. “The Congress claims that it is on the side of the poor and the middle class but in reality it is sapping their strength,” he claimed, adding that the industrial sector too was suffering with low productivity and workers were losing their jobs.
